Introduction
Vietnam is the latest hot destination in Southeast Asia. It has an amazing coastline and is filled with many picturesque and beautiful places. This blog will be a detailed guide on planning a day trip to Ninh Binh from Hanoi.
Tour Features
Our day tour will take us to Bai Dinh - Southeast Asia's biggest glistening pagoda complex. Then you'll get to see Trang An, a complex environment of mountains, river valleys, woodlands, caverns, and cultural and historical artifacts.
Itinerary
We will pick you up at your hotel in central Hanoi and drive to Ninh Binh province, where we will meet up with a local guide who specializes in the area – and whom you can trust. Upon arrival at approximately 10:00 am, we will start our journey to Bai Dinh Pagoda, the largest and oldest of its kind here.
In addition to being a World Heritage Site recipient, this place is set on the foothills of Dinh Mountain. You will be amazed by the amazing views of the river valley below, dotted with limestone karsts that will take your breath away as we make our way to the complex for an unforgettable tour together.
You can't help but be fascinated by the mystical atmospheres and the fascinating Buddhism tale presented by the guide. The following are a few highlights:
- 500 "La Han" stone sculptures (Arhats);
- 2 massive bronze bells, one weighing 27 tons and the other 36;
- 3 bronze "Tam The" sculptures (50 tons each).
The tour concludes with a hike to the mountain's summit to see a 100-ton Buddha statue and breathtaking views of the surrounding limestone karsts.
After lunch, we will take a short boat trip to Trang An Grottoes. The stunning limestone mountain range is 20 square kilometers and rises from the fields below.
Within its towering rocks are numerous canyons and tunnels, including "Hang Sang" (Light Cave), "Hang Toi" (Dark Cave), and "Hang Nau Ruou" (Cooking Wine Cave). A tranquil boat ride takes you through this beautiful landscape where ancient Buddhist monks once lived.
