Itinerary 

Day 1: Hanoi - Thac Ba Lake (Distance: 180KM)

The tour leader will greet you at the hotel and transfer you to the bike parking lot at 7:00 am on the first day. Then, you will head out of the bustling city of Hanoi and ride along the Red river to reach Doan Hung town in Phu Tho province. 

Afterward, you can take on the challenge of riding on different terrains and immerse yourself in the greenery of tea fields and palm trees. Leaving the wild landscape behind and heading to Thac Ba lake, Vu Linh Commune, you will be greeted by a peaceful village near Thac Ba Lake’s bank. 

You will be enjoying your first night in a cozy home-stay with a beautiful view of a serene lake.

After bidding farewell to the friendly host, continue your Northeast Vietnam Motorcycle Tour to Ha Giang. The route will be challenging yet rewarding. It is comprised of winding paved roads and rough landscapes. 

On the way, take note of spectacular sweeping sights of the mountains, magnificent rocky hills, and ethnic villages dotted on mountainsides. You will also encounter locals from different ethnics tribes along the way.   

On the second night, you are arranged to stay with the friendly Tay people in their village.

Today's ride is the most remarkable and exhilarating of the whole tour. A series of jagged roads will lead you to Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark. 

Keep your camera switched on to capture the striking landscape of Dong Van. You will soon realize that you are surrounded by thousands of limestone rocks and soaring mountains. Here, villages of the Hmong, Lo Lo, and Tay tribes are scattered over the hills, creating a mythical landscape.

Drinking a cup of cooking water at Dong Van will surely become one of your most treasured memories.

You will start the day with a leisure walk around the town. Discover the pristine beauty of Dong Van land and witness the daily life of indigenous locals. 

You will be amazed as you drive through a series of staggering roads. The stunning view of sweeping valleys and scenic mountains on the way to Ma Pi Leng Pass will leave you in awe as you admire the vastness of nature.

The poetic landscape of Ma Pi Leng Pass, composed of craggy cliffs and conical peaks, is a scene that will not be found anywhere else. Coupled with the dreamy sight of the Nho Que river winding off in the distance, this mental image is something you will always cherish.  

Day 5: Bao Lac - Quang Uyen (Distance: 190KM)

On this day, you can enjoy a leisurely ride, with only some blind curves along the way. You will witness a change in topography once you reach Quang Uyen. 

The scenes of lush forests, steep peaks, gorgeous mountains, and beautiful villages of minority groups all blend together to create a fascinating landscape.

The ride today is challenging but also rewarding as it reveals the hidden charm of the Northeast Vietnam Motorcycle Tour.

You will be beyond impressed with the picturesque landscape of rural Vietnam. This trail will reveal scenic views of rice fields, limestone hills,  and small villages. Remarkably, you can also encounter images of farmers and water buffalos working peacefully on the vast fields.

Then, you will soon reach Ban Gioc Waterfall, usually regarded as the natural border between Vietnam and China. Take your time to admire the spectacular natural formations of cascading waterfalls, cliffs, and unique-shaped rocks.

At lunchtime, you can enjoy the picnic lunch set up next to the lively waterfall while listening to the charming flow of water. You will have the choice to rest and unwind or swim in the natural pool if the weather permits.

Leaving the countryside of Cao Bang behind, we are ready for the amazing ride ahead. Continuing through winding and curving roads, you will soon be greeted by Ba Be National Park

Ba Be Lake is the only natural water lake in Vietnam. It is surrounded by limestone mountain ranges. Moreover, it is the ideal living environment for many rare species of fauna and flora.

The motorcycle journey will continue toward the village of the Tay people. You will have the opportunity to experience their daily life and learn about their culture at the stilt houses built amongst the forest. 

Day 8: Ba Be Lake - Hanoi (230KM)
