Tour Introduction

The Ha Giang Loop is the ride every adventure motorcyclist has on their list — and this is the way to do it justice.

Over five days and 1,040 kilometres, our Northeast Vietnam T7 Adventure links Hanoi's countryside to the raw, cliff-hanging highlands of Ha Giang and the serene waters of Ba Be Lake in one perfectly paced loop. You'll thread through terraced farmland and quiet ethnic villages, climb onto the Dong Van plateau where every curve opens deeper canyons and sharper ridgelines, and ride the legendary Ma Pi Leng Pass — one of Vietnam's most majestic roads. It's the full Ha Giang Loop, ridden the way it deserves: on a real machine, at real pace, with the whole northeast unfolding around you.

Your bike for the journey is the Yamaha Tenere 700 — the rally-bred adventure bike built for exactly this terrain. Light enough to flick through tight mountain switchbacks yet planted and confident on fast highland sweepers, the T7 lets you ride roads like Ma Pi Leng at your own rhythm. Every stage is fully supported and led by local guides who know these passes by heart, with hotels or homestays, all meals, fuel, permits and a backup vehicle handled from start to finish. Suited to intermediate riders ready to step up, this is the Ha Giang Loop at its very best.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1 — Hanoi to Vu Linh · 160 km

We slip out of the city and let Hanoi fall away, easing into open countryside on gentle backroads lined with rice paddies. The route rolls through small villages and low valleys on smooth, flowing curves — the perfect warm-up for the days ahead. You settle for the night at Vu Linh, on the quiet edge of Thac Ba Lake. Overnight: 3–4 star hotel or homestay. Meals: Lunch, Dinner.

Day 2 — Vu Linh to Ha Giang · 250 km

The road hugs lake edges and winding backroads before climbing into the northern highlands. Rolling hills and terraced farms open into sweeping panoramas made for a capable adventure bike, and quiet ethnic villages slip past between the curves. You arrive in Ha Giang as the cool evening air settles — the gateway to the real mountains, and a fitting eve to the big riding days. Overnight: 3–4 star hotel or homestay. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 3 — Ha Giang to Meo Vac · 150 km

This is the signature stage — rugged peaks, cliffside passes and viewpoints that never seem to end. You climb onto the Dong Van plateau, where every curve reveals deeper canyons and sharper ridgelines, and ride the flowing mountain bends the T7 was made for. The headline act is the legendary Ma Pi Leng Pass, carved high above the emerald Nho Que River, with plenty of scenic stops to take it all in. The day ends in the valley charm of Meo Vac. Overnight: 3–4 star hotel or homestay. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 4 — Meo Vac to Ba Be Lake · 250 km

Leaving Meo Vac, the pace softens through rolling valleys, gentle passes and riverside stretches. The scenery shifts from sharp karst spires to greener hills and broad farmland, and the roads open into smooth, easy cruising. You close the day at Ba Be — a tranquil lake cradled by forested mountains, and one of the most peaceful overnights in the northeast. Overnight: 3–4 star hotel or homestay. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 5 — Ba Be to Hanoi · 230 km

The final day blends mountain foothills with smooth, open countryside. The riding stays relaxed — long, easy stretches and light village traffic on scenic backroads chosen to keep you away from busy city approaches for as long as possible. Hanoi reappears at last, completing the loop and closing out five unforgettable days. Overnight: — . Meals: Breakfast, Lunch.
