Overview of Offroad Riding North Vietnam:
The motorbike tour of Vietnam's northern regions will surely leave you with an unforgettable memory.
In just four days, you will get the opportunity to be exposed to different terrains, which will evoke various levels of emotions, ranging from excitement to admiration. Riders from different levels can enjoy this type of excursion.
More especially, you can take this trip at any time of the year. The four-day and three-night itinerary comprises 700-750 kilometers of various levels of road, offering you the opportunity to learn the lifestyle and culture of ethnic people.
Day 1: Hanoi To Bac Yen (200 km)
It’s advisable to start the tour as early as possible to avoid the morning traffic rush in Hanoi. Before riding, search for the direction to Road 32.
After passing through the Red River, you will encounter jagged roads with numerous steep curves and slopes, which can be quite intimidating. However, the breathtaking scenery of extensive tea fields and terraced rice farm will prove to be worthy of your effort!
In the evening, you will travel around 40 kilometers off-road through Hmong villages before moving down to a town called Bac Yen in the evening.
Day 2: Bac Yen To Tu Le Terraced Rice Fields (160km)
The distance you will ride on the second day is shorter than the previous day, so you do not need to be in a rush to escape the morning traffic. However, we still recommend that you wake up early to enjoy the beautiful and serene sunrise at Ta Xua mountain.
Enjoying a hot cup of Vietnamese coffee while immersing yourself in the stunning natural scenery is something you won’t want to miss here!
Before arriving at the day’s final stop-Tu Le terraced rice fields, you'll have one more thrilling ride down a rocky slope, nestled between a cliff on one side and a deep valley on the other.
Day 3: Tu Le To Thac Ba Lake
Riding up to a distance of 190kms and through dirt roads ranging from 40 to 80km may be a challenge to test your skill and durability.
Your activity on the third day includes going sightseeing through the archaic cinnamon woodland and different villages before reaching Thac Ba Lake-a peaceful hydropower lake.
At this site, you can participate in a cooking course with local hosts along the lake or relax on a bobbing boat.
Day 4: Thac Ba Lake To Hanoi
On the final day of the journey, you will ride 160 kilometers to get back to the bustling capital of Hanoi. After saying goodbye to the villagers at Thac Ba Lake, proceed on National Highway 2 to the center of Phu Tho. Let’s take a break for around an hour for lunch and rest.
Then, going along the Red River. At the intersection with the Black River, cross the bridge on the Black River and pass Son Tay. Your journey off-road motorbike tour in north Vietnam has now come to an end.
