Southwest Hanoi Motorcycle Tour Overview

Comprehensive Itinerary

Day 1: Ha Noi – Pu Luong Motorbike Tour

On the first day, you will travel along the scenic route to Pu Luong. You can see the Red and Black river along the way before heading up to the hills. 

Pu Luong nature reserve is 150 km far from Hanoi. It may take you four and a half to reach there. 

Once you arrive here, you should not miss the opportunities to swim in Hieu Waterfall, visit ethnic Thai villages, join a craft workshop, enjoy farm-to-table meals, trek to Mountain Pu Luong, and experience the serenity of the reserve from the homestay. 

The best time to ride Pu Luong is at the end of May and early June. It is time to start a new rice crop. During this time,  terraced fields are covered with layers of green, making an area look picturesque. It is good to enjoy a fresh and cool atmosphere here. 

We suggest you visit this place in September or October. These two months is the harvest season in Pu Luong. So, you can see the spectacular view with multi-layer terraced fields turning yellowish. 

Day 2: Pu Luong – Mai Chau Motorbike Tour

The next destination is Mai Chau, where you see rolling rice paddies or mountains covered by forests. It is a peaceful corner that helps you relax and get rid of stress from the busy city life. 

It is great that we can go biking while we are there. In addition, the guide will take you to White Thai long-stilt houses where you can enjoy a sip of tea and local fruits like lychees. 

A noticeable feature of Mai Chau is its cuisine. Some famous dishes are bamboo-tube grilled rice, grilled native chicken, or pork skewers. 

In the evening, there will be traditional performances. White Thai musicians excel at using natural materials to create beautiful rhythms. Another thing is that you can listen to live folk music and watch dancers in full ethnic dress. 

Day 3: Mai Chau – Xuan Son Motorbike Tour

On the third day, you will visit Xuan Son national park, one of Vietnam's most attractive eco-tourism sites. The site is suitable for outdoor activities such as trekking or spelunking. 

You will surely be amazed by the beauty of nature here and the diverse fauna system (314 vascular plant species, 121 birds species, 14 amphibians species, 48 mammal species or 13 reptile species) and rich flora system (180 families, 1217 species of 6 vascular plant phyla, and 680 genera. 

In Xuan Son, you can witness the magic of nature: 4 seasons in a day. You may need to prepare warm clothes if going out in the evening. Do not forget to try some delicacies such as spring fish, bamboo shoots, glutinous rice, or chicken. 

 Day 4: Xuan Son – Da Bac Motorbike Tour

In Da Bac, you will have a chance to admire an incredible landscape, visit ethnic minority villages like Sung village and enjoy outdoor activities such as kayaking, rafting on the largest artificial reservoir, or biking. 

It is interesting to go trekking or hiking through forests or mountains to reach remote villages. You will be able to explore the tropical forest, ethnic hill tribes, and luxuriant mountains. Today could be one of the greatest days of motorbiking in Vietnam.

Admire the majestic scenery of mountains, rice fields, or clouds at stops on the way to mountains or remote villages. 

In particular, you can try the walking route from Da Bia to Muc village. Rid through the village of Muong, corn fields, mountains, and green forests. You can even take a boat ride before going back home.

Day 5: Da Bac – Ha Noi Motorbike Tour

On the last day, you will say goodbye to Da Bac and return to Hanoi.
