Introduction
As residents of South Vietnam, the Northern provinces are familiar and foreign to us. The beautiful footage on TV encouraged us to take a long trip to the remote mountains. The breathtaking natural scenery exceeded our expectations. Every minute or second of Ha Giang loop motorbike 2023 is worth our effort.Ha Giang Loop Motorbike 2023: 10 Days For Epic Tour
Day 1: Hanoi – Yen Bai Motorcycle Tour
We booked an early flight to Hanoi in time for our morning departure. A bus picked us up at the airport and headed to the suburbs, where we took our motorbikes. The vehicles then followed each other to Vu Linh ( Thac Ba lake ). The countryside scene reminded us of our peaceful childhood days. The rice fields seemed to stretch to the foot of the towering limestone mountains. Without smoke or trumpets of cars, we moved in silence to feel the natural beauty of our hearts and eyes.Day 2: Yen Bai – Nghia Lo – Mu Cang Chai Motorbike Route
The conquest of the mountains came on the second day of our Ha Giang loop motorbike, but earlier in the morning, we started in the valleys below the pass. We came to the rice fields crowded with farmers working for the harvest. The smell of ripe rice followed the wind spread everywhere. Khau Pha mountain pass was easier than we expected, but only for experienced riders. The excitement was back after long days working in the closed office when we reached the top. Right after going downhill, we came across Mo Stream. As its name suggests (Mo in Vietnamese means dream), the water flows gently from the top to the small stream below. Once again, we must focus on the winding roads around the mountains. The difficulty level increased significantly compared to yesterday when we faced the Hoang Lien Son range at an altitude of over 2000m. At the peak, we were treated to a panoramic view of the highest mountains in Vietnam. Sapa greeted us on the way down. As a popular tourist city, the town was full of tourists during its best time. To avoid the chaotic flow of people, we decided to leave for Cat Cat. Mountains, streams, and wooden houses by the Mong people surrounded the village.Day 4: Sapa – Bac Ha – Pho Rang Motorcycle Trip
The tropical climate kept us glued to the bed until the sun was up. After breakfast, we sped to the border with China. The two sides were filled with brilliant flowers like a masterpiece of lacquer. We stopped for a long while at Pho Rang ruins. Despite the outstanding development of technology, this small land still carried the breath of the old days. While wandering the small streets, many strangers came and offered us highland fruits and homemade distilled spirits, warming our cold hearts when it was getting more chilly. Huge mountains led us to Ha Giang, with the first stop being Yen Minh. The pine forests on the mounds higher than the road surface made our dream of Da Lat. However, we must pass the slopes dotted by rustic villages first. Instead of the bustling center, we drove straight to the famous caves. They are hidden deep in the rocky cliffs with unique ecosystems and stalactites.Day 6: Yen Minh – Sung La Motorcycle Path
We couldn’t stop admiring the spectacular view of the Chinh Khoang slope. The track consisted of many U-shaped corners connected close together, posing a difficult problem for the riders. It was uneasy not to be distracted by the captivating scenery on either side. Looking down from the sky-crossing road, we saw Sung La very early but drove a long time to approach it. The whole valley was lost in buckwheat flowers and mustard flowers, while the stone fences that symbolize the strength of the man surrounded the houses.Day 7: Sung La – Dong Van Motorbike Trip
We got up earlier than the alarm clock to visit Sa Phin market. The bustling atmosphere blew away any lingering sleepiness from our minds. Far from other trade activities, participants came there for intimate conversations with their partners and friends. View more: Ha Giang Loop Motorbike Tours 2023 We filled our bellies with a local breakfast in the market and rode our motorbikes to Lung Cu. We chose to walk up to the flagpole. It is not easy to describe how we felt on the stairs. One thing is for sure: The moment we touched the national flag and looked down the mountain, it gave us goosebumps and reminded us of the sacred moments seeing the flag rising at Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum with the national anthem in the background.Day 8: Dong Van – Meo Vac Motorcycle Trip
Our Ha Giang motorcycle tour moved a short distance to the neighboring province of Meo Vac. However, we had to prepare carefully to conquer 9 bends with cliffs and abyss on both swings. From the top, we took many panoramic pictures of the Dong Van Stone Plateau and Nho Que river. Our delegation then moved to Dong Van’s old town. Small wooden houses located side by side under the rocky mountains created an impressive ancient scene. Leaving our motorbikes at the gate, we walked around this area to observe the daily activities of the ethnic minorities.Day 9: Meo Vac – Du Gia Motorcycle Tour
The road connecting Meo Vac and Du Gia lasted about 80 km. Our destination was not famous, so most of the visitors were adventure racers. The roadside scene appeared as a slow-motion movie from a small village surrounded by cornfields to giant mountains standing in the clouds. The traditional stilt houses of the Tay community were nestled in the green valley. After we stashed our things in the homestay, innocent children led us to a nearby flax garden and a calm stream.Day 10: Du Gia – Ha Giang Motorbike Trip & Back To Hanoi
We lingered in the village until lunch to capture the wild nature to our delight. No smart TVs, no internet, no Facebook, and even no electricity in some places. But we felt the fulfillment in my bones, as our inner child was spoiled and we could cut all ties of the painful and stressful past. Despite many regrets, our Ha Giang loop motorbike adventure came to an end. We were on motorbikes to the center and walked around until dark. A bus then took us back to the capital. Maybe, Vietnam will welcome us again in 2024!Boating on Ba Be lake, Bac Kan
