Motorbike Tour To Lang Son: 2 Days On Border Roads
Day 1: Hanoi - Lang Son Motorcycle Tour
We left the bustling city before rush hours and headed towards the Red River Delta. After a few hours of scenic motorbike ride, the concrete jungle faded into a shimmering mirage in the rearview mirror and gave way to taller limestone mountains. Soon, our Vietnam motorbike tour veered off the smooth road and began our ascent to the top of Mau Son Mountain.
With every meter climbed, the temperature dropped. If you travel in winter, your visibility may be limited, posing a high risk of danger due to fog and even falling snow.
The twisted roads took us through century-old verdant forests and colonial hill stations in the summer. Once we reached the top of the mountain, a breathtaking view of Northern mountains and forests unfolded before our eyes. We could even admire the remote villages on the Chinese border at an altitude of 1,500 meters.
Day 2: Lang Son Motorbike Tour To Hanoi
Wake up - it's time to explore Lang Son City! Do not miss the opportunity to participate in the morning market at Dong Kinh Market. Our growling stomachs were treated to a warm bowl of rice vermicelli and some sweet snacks at unbelievably low prices.
The Lang Son motorbike tour then headed to the busy trading post near the border with a stunning view of gorgeous scenery, always crowded with traders. While some sought solace in nearby coffee shops, we opted to dive into the market. We were eager to immerse ourselves in the local way of life and find unique souvenirs.
The market's vibrant atmosphere excited us, and we may have spent more than initially planned. Thankfully, our tour guide shared a few bargaining tricks earlier. Armed with that knowledge, we negotiated with the sellers and managed to buy Chinese products for a song.
Conclusion
We returned to Hanoi right in the afternoon of the second day. Though our motorbike tour to Lang Son was short, the blissful riding experience and fabulous views on the narrow roads washed away our stress and recharged our energy.
We couldn't help but wish we had more time to explore the lush scenery in Northeast Vietnam. If you have the same plans, stay tuned, as we have more rewarding experiences down the line!
