Tour Itinerary

1st day: Hanoi - Son Tay - Phu Yen by motorbike

We begin our journey at around 9:30. Before the team sets out, the leader will disseminate a short briefing about the tour so everyone is aware of their schedules for the day. From Hanoi, we drive on a paved road to Phu Yen and have a quick stop to visit Son Tay and rest before hitting the road again.

Once we reach Son Tay, we can go to see the jail camp in which prisoners from America in the Vietnam - America war were kept or visit an ancient citadel. 

Son Tay's unique nature of Vietnam's architectural style and history can be seen in its ancient citadel. It was built with stone made from a natural laterite material, and the citadel holds many old structures and monuments, which are known for their historical significance.

After spending some time cruising over the Son Tay region and having lunch, we get back on our motorbikes and continue on the winding roads until we reach Phu Yen. The team will stay overnight here and end up with our 165 km ride on the first day.

The journey on the second day of 150 km of motorbiking that stretches from Phu Yen is an exhilarating trip. The exciting route to Mai Chau crosses over steep mountains and lush forests, passing villages of several tribes, including Dao, Hmong, and Thai people.

In the early evening, we will reach Mai Chau as the sun settles on the terraced fields, casting a distinct golden light across the vibrant landscape.

Mai Chau - a district is just 150km from the hustle and bustle of Hanoi, but in many ways, it feels like a world away. This rural area invites visitors who are interested in enjoying a calm life amongst genuine and beautiful rustic scenery. 

Mai Chau offers an authentic slice of daily Vietnamese life surrounded by rivers, woodlands, rice fields, and stilt houses. You can watch traditional stilt homes dotting the landscape, witness magical melodies of chirping birds and gurgling streams and partake in fun activities such as hiking, biking, or trekking.

3rd day: Mai Chau - Tan Ky by motorbike

Our third day will cover a distance of 300 km of motorcycling through the HCM trail. It's a hard day, but we will travel through a lot of different areas that are beyond breathtaking when it comes down to their sheer natural beauty. We will stop in Cam Thuy, where we have lunch and rest a bit before heading back on the road. We will arrive in Tan Ky town and stay for a night here.

Tan Ky town is the perfect spot for a pleasant stopover. Thai Minh village is the main attraction of this area. This community comprises the majority of the population of Thai people, with most residents in this area being skilled in making brocade craft. 

A stay here will be an unforgettable experience - so much so that many guests return to stay here just as they have done before!

4th day: Tan Ky - Phong Nha by motorbike

Distance: 280 km

After breakfast, we leave Tan Ky and begin riding to Pho Chau to rest and do some sightseeing. Bikers will go past various historical sites along the HCM trail in this northern Vietnam motorcycle tour. This day's biking totals about 280km. 

The team will then be off to Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park! It's a gorgeous park that features ancient mountains formed around four centuries ago. Thanks to its enormous underground rivers and cave systems, the work really is breathtaking. 

Adventurous souls looking for something a little different can always delve into the exploration of these natural wonders by forest trekking or mountain biking. Hence, it's a perfect place for those looking for variety in their journey.

We drive back to the center of Phong Nha and stay at a hotel after an action-packed day out with many activities!

5th day: Phong Nha - Dong Hoi by motorbike

Distance: 60 km

On the next day, we will take a motorcycle ride to other famous places in Quang Binh province. However, it's just not enough to discover the National park in one day, so the team will have an early start to discover nature's wonders and see other ancient relics at the World Heritage Site- Phong Nha- Ke Bang. 

If the schedule permits, we can enjoy a boat ride and explore the fascinating cave complexes there - just don't forget to come prepared for anything!

After that, the team will set off to Dong Hoi and take a moment to visit the Vietnamese Demilitarized Zone and wander along the beautiful beach, watching the sunset over gorgeous scenery. The feeling of tranquility mixed with golden sunshine really makes one feel on top of the world!

6th day: Dong Hoi - Khe Sanh by motorbike

Our schedule for today is to arrive at Khe Sanh. With traffic at a minimum, the Ho Chi Minh trail ( HCM trail ) allows for pleasant drives, which is especially impressive during the morning hours when you can witness a transition of landscapes on the way – from towering mountains, green fields, and rural villages before reaching a more urban area dotted with tube houses on tree-lined roads. 

The team will arrive at Khe Sanh in the early evening after a distance of 200- km biking. There, we can take a moment to see the Khe Sanh museum - where artifacts from wartime are kept. Or if we still have time, you can go around to see Vinh Moc tunnel or Hien Luong bridge, etc.

7th day: Khe Sanh - Hue by motorbike

When motorcycling from Khe Sanh to Hue, we stopped for a while at the Da Krong Bridge. The Cubans built this bridge in 1973 during the Vietnam War. A few kilometers up the road, you'll find yourself riding through a devastated valley - called A Chau - destroyed seriously in the battle.

We then make our way through picturesque mountain ranges that had been harshly affected by Agent Orange and countless bombs dropped here in the Vietnam War. The team will also travel through A Luoi, where the Bru Van Kieu - an ethnic group - live. 

We'll move on a route along with some scenic paddy fields to Hue City. The team will reach there later in the evening and stay in a local hotel for the night.

8th day: Hue- Hoi An by motorbike

Hai Van Pass to Hue to Hoian, is an approximately long mountain pass on National Route 1A in Vietnam.

Starting the next day of our journey, we'll cross the famous Hai Van pass on the way to our next stop to the World Heritage Sites - Hoi An. We'll also take in an epic sea view as we ride on the HCM highway along the sea.

After our long motor ride on a 145 km route, we'll arrive in Hoi An, a charming town that used to be a significant port in Indochina. Ancient streets, brimming with shops and stalls which sell handicrafts, local foods, and souvenirs, fill our senses with excitement as we can spend the night exploring. But if you don't see it's enough, don't worry, you will have a whole next day to discover this ancient town.

Hoi An is a beautiful place popular for its well-preserved architecture and buildings. This ancient town is a vibrant mix of old and new, reflected in its numerous historic buildings from various periods and styles, including temples and ancestral houses. The town's architecture is a blend of Vietnam, Chinese, Japanese and French styles.

The streets here are very narrow; the buildings are old and a little renovated. If you go inside the ancient town, you will feel like you're trapped in a movie set surrounded by many tailors and silk saree shops. 

If you take a walk around the old streets, you'll bump into many tailors, where cheap tailor-made clothes, lanterns, and hand-made shoes are sold. This town is also a great place to relax and unwind. There are so many restaurants and cafes to indulge in that tourists can spend an entire week just going from one cafe to another!

For more fun, you can take a ride on your bike to Cua Dai beach and bask in the sun, rent a bicycle for a breezy ride through picturesque paddy fields. Not to mention that this place might be best known for its vibrant night scene with dozens of restaurants specializing in local dishes such as fresh seafood, delicious desserts, or sweet drinks, so let's enjoy them all at night.

10th day: Hoi An - Quy Nhon by motorbike

Distance: 280 km

After Hoi An, we'll be setting off on our next leg to Quy Nhon through National Highway 1 for about 280 kilometers. This route offers VietNam's beautiful seascape with long sand ridges and large beaches.

Along the way, we can also catch a glimpse of the coast of Quy Nhon, a new tourist destination that boasts gorgeous islands, engaging safaris, and ancient pagodas. It evokes a sense of relaxation, serenity, and fun.

It is a coastal city in the Central region of the country. It has a unique history and is the historical capital of Binh Dinh province. This city is a popular destination for tourism because of its beautiful beaches, including Ky Co, Hon Kho, that offer a lot of activities such as scuba diving in the region's clear waters or going on a unique boat trip to visit nearby islands. 

After a long motorcycle journey - it will be a wonderful experience to spend the night at one of the charming beachfront hotels in the area. The schedule for our last day is quite hard, so make sure to sleep well and be ready for the challenge ahead.

11th day: Quy Nhon - Nha Trang by motorbike

Distance: 280 km

We will set off early and ride to Nha Trang on an easy-to-navigate trail that follows along stunning beaches. Riding our motorbikes, immersing ourselves in the beach breeze, and listening to the waves crash in the distance will be perfect for wrapping up our 11-day motorcycle adventure around such a warm and breathtakingly inviting country like Vietnam.
